MAHA Shifts The Paradigm of Health

MAHA 2026 Is Making Americans Healthy Again

Under the leadership of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Make America Healthy Again movement has begun to implement health changes across various sectors. Encouraging Americans to look at their health as an all-encompassing approach with full transparency from MAHA leadership, the Federal Drug Administration(FDA), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services(HHS). Americans are being encouraged to question every label, ingredient, and origin of their food. Whole foods are encouraged to be the best source of fuel for our bodies. Processed foods are considered the worst source of fuel for our bodies. In addition, Americans are encouraged to push back on hidden contaminants in medication and food.

So what’s changing?

Let’s take a look at the new health guidelines for 2026!

  1. MAHA creates an initiative to prevent chronic disease in children.

  2. MAHA approves naturally sourced colors in food and medications (this is a major step because the FDA is actually on board with eliminating petroleum-based dyes in our medications and foods).

  3. Untested chemicals are no longer allowed in American foods without notifying the FDA. This is a major shift in the Generally Recommended As Safe (GRAS) standard.

  4. “Stork Speed” is being launched to provide better options for infant formula.

  5. Digging into the root cause of Autism.

  6. Restoring American confidence in vaccines.

  7. Changes to the food pyramid, along with dietary guidelines, will be implemented.

  8. Reforming SNAP benefits so there are more whole food v. sugary and processed food options for low-income households.

  9. Being transparent when it comes to contaminants in food.

I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that I do not support the Trump administration. However, the MAHA movement has begun to propose and implement health changes that align with my values as a Certified Wellness Coach.

Consuming foods that are as close to their origin is what I encourage for my clients. “Do not let perfection be the enemy of good” is what I practice with my own health and what I preach to my clients. I am well aware that many of them still consume processed foods. However, trying to stick to whole foods as much as possible has helped minimize symptoms of clients who live with chronic disease. I have witnessed it and personally experienced it.
